About AMR Research
Who publishes this research, how it relates to American Mineral Registry’s commercial service, how it is checked, and how to reuse, cite or correct it.
Who publishes it
AMR Research is published by American Mineral Registry, a privately run website. It is not a government agency, a law firm or a nonprofit, and nothing on it is an official record of title.
How the research relates to the business
American Mineral Registry also asks buyers for written offers on owners’ minerals, through a separate set of pages under Services. It earns money only when a sale it arranges closes, usually by buying an interest and reselling it. That gives it a commercial interest in owners deciding to sell.
To keep the two apart, Research pages carry no offers, sign up forms or pop ups and do not link to the owner services, the law is described as the text reads whether or not that favors selling, and corrections are made in public.
How the research is checked
Every finding in the October 2026 release was checked against the saved text it rests on, official wherever the official publisher could be read, and the method is set out in full in the methodology. Each field carries its own evidence label, so a reader can see which findings rest on official text, which conditions remain open and what a search for a statute covered.
AMR Research is reference material, not legal advice. A decision about a particular property calls for a title attorney licensed in that state, and the state pages list the questions such a review should start with.
Reuse and licensing
AMR’s own text, compilations and data are licensed CC BY 4.0: reuse them with attribution. Statute text and U.S. government data quoted or compiled here are not AMR’s to license; they keep their own terms, and public domain material stays public domain. The press kit has ready citations.
Archival copies
The June 2026 edition of the law dataset is deposited at Zenodo, version DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20935348, concept DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20935347. That deposit is preserved as published and does not contain release 2026.10.1, which corrects it. A deposit of the October release has been prepared but not yet published.

Corrections, press and data questions, licensing and teaching requests come here. A correction is checked against the source you cite and, if it changes a finding, logged on changes and corrections with the date, the old and new reading and the source.
