Dormant mineral rules for tools
The machine readable rules the rule finder uses, generated from the atlas. Use them to build your own tools, with the same limits.
Oil and gas production by state
Annual crude oil production (thousand barrels) and marketed natural gas production (million cubic feet), 2020 to 2025, as published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on September 30, 2026, with series identifiers. A blank means EIA has not published the value. See the data page.
Federal mineral revenue disbursements by state
Office of Natural Resources Revenue disbursements to state and local governments by state and source, fiscal years 2024 and 2025, summed from the ONRR fiscal year file downloaded October 1, 2026. Federal government revenue, not private royalties. See the data page.
State tax on royalty income
Whether each state levies a broad personal income tax, and severance or production tax details for major producing states, each row with its own source and status. See the reference.
Oil and gas price snapshot
Monthly WTI crude and Henry Hub natural gas spot prices as published by EIA, captured on October 1, 2026. A dated snapshot, not a live feed. See the page.
Official mineral and oil and gas databases by state
For all 50 states and D.C.: the oil and gas regulator and its well search, how production is published, the bulk download, the state land office tool and the unclaimed property search, each opened on October 5, 2026, with the links that could not be opened that day marked. See the list.
